e-Chamber is a project (IST-2001-32600) trying to provide
a One-Stop-Shop for end-users in order to consume services currently
provided by European Chambers of Commerce.
In the pilot phase, four services are selected to be
provided:

A Help Desk

A
mechanism to Request Certificates from a Chamber
-
Business Directory, for the members of the Chambers
-
Electronic Trade

Among its innovative features, we can mention:
Overall, the e-Chamber architecture simplifies the
sharing of the trustedbusiness information provided by the European
Chambers of Commerce, andpermits through its open design the
accommodation of new Chamber and /or new services.

e-Chamber transformation will serve as the technology
voice of the businesses by maintaining active and state of the art means
to enter in the Information Society.
These include:

transform functionally the participating Commercial Chambers in
Europe, into
electronic chambers

to
create a user friendly, dynamic, accurate, advanced e-services
facilitation set-up
for information knowledge, continuous learning, and conducting
business.

to
act as an advocate for e-commerce and to promote community, regional
growth
and business development

to
offer high quality e-services to its members and organisations
-
to
promote through the technology the concerns and resolutions of the
business
community while reinforcing the private business initiatives which
constitute the
backbone of the economy

to
improve the level of services currently offered by the chambers
using an
efficient e-facilitation mechanism

to
bring together individuals and regional businesses through the
advanced offered
technologies to meet their current and to be transformed business
vision and
objectives, contributing in the framework of Unified Europe
The objectives to meet will be

the
creation of the pilot,
-
it
will answer the (who) (how) for the eframework to run an eChamber
activity, the (what) for social processes and labor conditions to be
raised, the (who) (how) will benefit and the (how) will the way
people work/change,

the
evaluation of the successful development of the eChamber project
and
-
the
demonstration of a set of eChamber services highlighted above.
